HTC WP8x/s look tacky compared to Nokia 920

Nothing screams "dork!" louder than fishing a giant, heavy Lumia 900 out of one's pocket and dropping it on the table at a restaurant with an audible "thud," while the restaurant shakes afterwards.

Sorry, L900 feels too big, thick and heavy.

And if you think "a few inches here and there don't make much of a difference," I suggest you avoid hopping into the Bay Area dating pool! :D

Ah. That makes sense.

We should all worry about what other people might think! The ladies love that.

Well, at least they did back in high school. :dry

Well, if you want a Nokia DorkPhone, I'm not gonna stop you. There are still people carrying around Treos and BlackBerries on those pocket-protector-style belt-holsters, after all. :D

I'm looking for a belt that can carry multiple holsters. I may have to put some fake phones on them because I don't want to buy all of them. But I can't deny that the look drives women wild.

In all seriousness, back when I was a Marketing Manager for a bank I actually did have two holsters. One for my Blackberry, and one for my Motorola A780.

I was PIMP*.

*so so alone

I had a Treo in the olden days, and I carried it in my man-bag so I didn't need one of those. Holsters, to me, meant death.

I have large hands, as well, but a phone spends MOST of its time being carried in a pocket, not in my hands.

I don't want to carry half-a-brick in my pocket, or have my smartphone bulging out like a giant polymer tumor from my jeans, Lumia 900-style.

You must have the thinnest wallet in the world in that case.

I have a minimalist ultra-thin wallet, yes.

One credit card, one debit card (both from the same bank), a driver's license, health insurance card, and $50 in $20s and $10s.

Anything thicker is uncomfortable and to be avoided.

The port on the 8x looks identical to the one on my Trophy. I guess that's just what HTC uses. I love the 920 but if it feels like a brick in my pocket then I may have to go 8X. I think the both look great!

A square microUSB port without rounded corners is a catastrophe. A thicker, heavier, clunkier handset is no big deal, however. ;)

Good observations Emergenic. While the Nokia and HTC devices (and Samsung if you are into thin and plasticy) will all be solid phones, the L920 will be the one that floats to the top of the heap. You won't be disappointed.

One Youtube video says plastic and every other source says Brushed Aluminum. Although I am not sure it matters since even if it was plastic, so are the other two phones....

the place where the Port is looks rushed

The One X port had problems too. Some had lines and some didn't. Seems like whatever factory or manufacturing process they use, always screws up at the end, assuming the USB is the end of the unibody that is.

Glad to see the resident nokia haters have time to stop by and crap on another thread.

At my work there's a lonely Palm Pre charger. It's an original one and is pretty slick and has an usb port. Every day I try to sell the damn thing and people don't buy it on the name alone.

It's being there for years!!!.

I picture you being able to do competitive swimming while fully clothed and with full tech gear!
