Hi. I bought my Lumia 920 few days ago. It was used but still had 20 months warranty. The battery stayed completely discharged for about a month. Then when I bought it I charged it fully, up to 100%. First few days everything was going good, I could last a day playing games, texting, talking etc. But today battery went crazy. In the morning I played Asphalt 8 and after that battery started draining like crazy, it lasted for another ~3 h. As I got back home I charged it up to 75% and installed app that shows discharge rate, when disconnected from electricity source it showed that battery drains 5% per hour. Soon after that I went to watch a movie on my Lumia. After 30 min of watching the movie I cheked out the app, the drain rate was 15%/h. After another 30 min I stopped watching the movie and started listening to the radio. And to my surprise drain rate was 25%/h. I turned off every service and every app on the phone, drain rate was the same. Then I tried to push it to the limit turned on all the services, gravity guy, batman and six guns at once, to my surprise disharge rate at that moment was 20%/h. I turned off everything once again, same thing 20%. Restarting the phone made the drain rate go to 5% per hour. What could couse such a drain ? Note I have blocked all the background apps.

the Battery apps are not accurate and also the WP drains battery randomly without any Warning :)

I cant say how accurate they are, but I can see that something is obviously wrong. It's not normal for battery to drain so quickly from playing a simple video. Im charging my Lumia right now and its charge rate is 40%/h. Is that normal ? Oh and i did a hard reset as soon as I got it.

I would say that the rates are normal. It will be helpful to know whats the Display option [low, med, high, automatic] and then Connectivity, from where you played Video and music..

by the way Before posting something new thread you should have searched forum http://forums.windowscentral.com/windows-phone-8/238706-do-you-have-random-battery-drain.html

Go into settings>swipe right>background tasks>top on and block all the apps you don't need doing anything in the background. Also, do a reset every so often.

Display was set to normal. All the connections were off. I restarted my phone a few times and left it to charge over the night. Today on the standby I have 4% discharge rate. Guess that is normal ? Oh and all the background apps were blocked already.

This might be frowned upon, but have you tried locking your phone to 3G only (to turn off the LTE on your phone)? I haven't had a battery drain (over 17% per hour) for over three weeks now with location, tap + send, auto-brightness, and all background apps turned on after I locked mine to 3G only. I used to constantly get a battery drain almost every other day before I turned off the LTE on my 920.

Kind of defeats the purpose of having an LTE phone. lol

I think you got multiple things running the background. Go in background task and do some cleanup there. That's where most likely your problem is. As you installed more and more apps. that has beefed up fairly well. You want to keep it at no more than 5 max.

Also WIFI..when not in use, make sure its off. Otherwise you are forcing the wifi to be in constant search which in turn is a drain.

Display settings, set it to automatic rather than hard set.

Haha, yeah, I know. It does defeat the purpose of having an LTE phone. But I'm batting so far 2/2 (my aunt's and my own) for eliminating the high amount of battery drain when idling (which previously plagued our phones) after locking the phone to 3G only... So... *shrug*. I tried many different things suggested on these forums such as turning off background apps, auto brightness turned off, location turned off, nfc turned off, among others, and yet none so far has been as consistent at keeping the battery drain away as locking down to 3G...

Try disabling bing weather from, background. That's the culprit. Also asphalt 8 is bad app. Ot heats up the phone like a frying pan. And also since your phone was hot for another 20 min so it was draining battery. Try to switch off the phone after playing aaphalt 8 until it coola down. Then turn on. It will be good to go with no battery drain. Also battery monitoring apps itself drains battery and the readings are neevr accurate.
