I fixed the battery drain on my Lumia 920

It took several days to get the battery drain solved on my phone. After taking the update, I did a factory reset and reinstalled everything manually instead of restoring the backup. Most background processes had been disabled through battery saver with exception to those that seemed important or useful. Unfortunately I was still losing charge at an alarming rate. Finally, I disabled the background process for OneDrive yesterday afternoon. Now my battery is a beast! I can't say it will solve your problem, but it solved mine.

Report back in two weeks and we may believe it's fixed. I've been there and a few days later it's back to normal drain...

I turned off the phone and it fixed my drain, battery stayd at 100 for whole week now

My Lumia 920 cannot hold the 100% after a night when it's turned off... The Moto G can though...

And how can OneDrive be the solution? I checked the usage of OneDrive on my phone, and there was zero usage!

As I said, it might not solve your problem, but it did solve mine.

I call it a lie :P

No way are you getting 100% on a restart. That vibration and screen lightening up alone must use at least 1% if not 23%.

I also Turner off Glace screen and my battery was a beast for 2 days. Now it's back to normal drain.

I do not have any idea how to fix this. So annoying.

Overall I like WP 8.1 a lot.

It's been a week now and my battery life is still on par with pre-8.1 longevity since disabling background tasks for OneDrive.

That's all well and good, unless you rely on syncing with OneDrive-

I'm still on 8.0... with all the issues being reported with battery, usability, loss of features, I'm still weighing the risk-reward ratio before 'uprgrading' to 8.1... Don't know if Cortana is worth it-- yet.

What does the background task of OneDrive do?
I would think photo upload and stuff is separate... and it doesn't have a live tile...

There really needs to be some explanation on what disabling background tasks do for each app. 8.0 had it.
