I had to replace my windows 8 by a fake windows 7 (had no choice !). Can I get back windows 8 ?

I live in rural Thailand and after a computer crash, the only choice the local IT shop were offering was to install windows 7. So I did it. But now I have a copy on windows 7.

The computer was bought in France and I live in Thailand. So I can't go to the reseller.Computer is a packard bell, fitted with windows 8 from the factory I think. There is a sticker under the laptop.

How can I become legal again ?

Can you obtain Windows 8 media for your computer? (From HP site, etc)
If so, as long as your previous Windows 8 install was activated, you can install Windows 8 again and it should activate again.

How is the version of Windows 7 fake?
Did the IT shop not provide a Windows 7 key?

If that sticker contains a key, download Windows 8 and install it using the key provided.
