Good stuff I wouldn't mind getting the North America firmware but I'm wondering if it will have a negative impact on how the radios will function .

Well I have gone between almost all ROMs for the RM-985, so far I haven't seen any difference between them outside of some features enabled, while some not (Field Test, etc.). For now, the Rogers variant looks like the best one since it doesn't have anything disabled

O.o now I'm really tempted lol . Wait do you get the field menu option on the North America rom ?

How can i do this ?

You'll have to wait till Microsoft releases the firmware update for the ROM variant running on your 830. There are other ways (flashing to a different firmware) but I wouldn't suggest that unless one knows the process (or is willing to read around)

Hello,
I have RM-984 on Lumia 830, but it is european ROM and it doesnt have LTE Band 4, so Can I flash the handset with RM-985 for get LTE (Band 4)?

Regards.

Nope. The radio gets set on the SoC before assembly and Firmware does not change it... At least that is my understanding from reading posts on cross flashing variants.

You could try and access Field Test and see if it just needs to be enabled. Same instructions as here - http://forums.windowscentral.com/no...wind-mobilicity-aws1700mhz-hspa-band-4-a.html - except you would be looking for a hidden LTE band, not a hidden 3G.

...It came with the box, and 2 new replacement covers, one white and one orange (I already have the original white cover and battery)...

So, what I'm hearing is that you have a spare white back you want to donate to me to help complete my collection of backs and all I need do is pay shipping because you are a groovy and generous cat.

Haha I wish I still had the extra white one. I traded it for a black cover. Now I have black, white and green in my collection :)

Dang it. I have Green and Orange... With the black frame. So Green makes it "The Matrix," Orange makes it "Halloween" and I wanted White to make it "Storm Trooper."

Thanks Anyway. Glad you got your 830 rocking again.

Not really. I am going through a wild goose chase with MS repair. In short, my phone was sent back without repair while MS thinks it was replaced with a new phone. Ohh well...another 3 weeks of despair till this gets sorted out. Till then I am rocking my evergreen 920

Hi guys :) I have a simple Q. It's worth to buy L830 these days or will you recommend me any other phone? I want a nice metal body with thin profile, good camera (also ff. which is not good on 830, although I can be wrong ;) ), max 5' or 5,2'.. I was considering between L735 and 830 but the 4,7' is not big enough. I have L630 right now, so, what do you suggest?
P.S. I apologize for my english :P

By what you say you want, I'd choose either an 830 or one of Sony's offerings... the M4 (if you don't want to pay so much) or Z3. I'm very happy with my 830. I personally don't care much about having a great front camera, I just care that it has a front camera for when I want to video call.

If what you want out of a Front Facing camera is to take pictures of yourself (and judging by your avatar you are interested in that :winktongue:) then get an 830 and use this App https://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store/app/lumia-selfie/40b6a721-15d2-4843-a746-774bd7b9bda9 to take picture of yourself with the rear camera... It has a beeping tone to let you know when your face is centered and many post shot edits available. Than you can stare at yourself in full 10MP, Zeiss, OIS, PureView glory!!!!!

No more awkward pics from a mirror with your phone in the shot... That is so 2011. OMG. o_O

@Luke Jordan... Someone just informed me that you can also pair a Treasure Tag with Lumia Selfie and use it as a remote shutter button so you are even more hands off on the Rear Cam selfie action.
