If I buy a Lumia 735 outside of India can I use it in India?

Using Lumia 735 in India

If i buy Lumia 735 outside India, can i use it in India. Does the 4G LTE works fine in India? Anyone has any idea.

4G spectrum is unavailable in India and that appears to be a reason MS - India taken a step back for this model. Are you sure if your SIM operator facilitates 4G services in your state/region?

I think you can get 4G depending on your city ... airtel 4G LTE | High Speed Wireless Internet | 4G Tariff Plans is just one I found and at the bottom of that page it lists the 15 or so cities it has coverage in so far but again I`m sure there are probably more to choose from too.

I see no reason, unless the phone is locked to a network somehow when you buy it, that it should not work.

In Chennai we don't have 4G. But unlike iPhone which has 4G, but works in India. Does Lumia 735 also work in 3G but switch to 4G when it is available?

735 has LTE, so u can use the 3G now and once ur region get 4G definitely u can use it.

india uses TD-LTE 2300MHz band
and if you plan for lumia 735 please check it work for the specific network because of there are 3 different variants
if you going for buying specific for 4G then please go for India specific 4g phone

Hmm Lumia 735 uses (LTE 800 / 1800 / 2600) which we don't have in India. So you are saying better buy a phone which works in India?

Reliance GIo is halting the progression of 4 g in india ,they have the major spectrum allocation mumbai and delhi circle are in their kitty but they are rolling out services in 2015
