If I roll back from Windows 10 to Windows 8.1, will the License for Windows 10 still be active?

Rolling Back and Windows 10 License

I love Windows 10 and am actually surprised at how much I prefer its UI on a tablet to 8.1 after having used it for just a month. However, there is one app I can't do without that doesn't work on it yet, so I'm rolling back temporarily. (If that app doesn't get updated, I may end up taking my business to the app's competitor and going back to 10.)

At any rate, once a machine is licensed via activation for Windows 10, is it always licensed? If I roll back and use 8.1 for another year, will I be able to re-activate when I re-upgrade? Or will I be out of luck because it will be out of Microsoft's free-upgrade time period?
