Not for Canadians it isn't.:straight: Is there a way I can "fool" marketplace into letting me get it?

It's blocked in Australia, too. You could probably try changing your region in settings, I've used tools on XDA that allow for free apps to be downloaded as XAPs then deployed. Unfortunately, there's still an addition in-app check when you try and register / log in, so most of the functionality is nerfed.
