I'm trying to update my Lumia 530 to Denim but I haven't got enough space, how do I free up space?

I'm trying to update my lumia 530 to denim but i havent got enough space

I have 551.61mb on my lumia 530, and i need more space. I have moved everything i can to my sd card, but still havent got enough. Is there anything else i can do.

its possible that you might have maps on your internal memory.
not the here maps app but the downloaded maps.
delete them.
you need to have atleast 1gb free on phone memory
what size sd card do you have. (try free some more space)
I believe sd card can also be used to update the phone.

if nothing works backup-reset-update.

check if there are maps in there (not the app the map you downloaded through the app)

Did you already use storage sense to delete temporary files on your phones internal memory. Even if you see 0 still tap delete.
And did you delete IE history?
If this is still not enough uninstall an app, after the update you can install it again.

ive uninstalled every app stored on my phone that i can delete, and yes to the first 2 solutions

Open storage sense > go to phone > there you see maps and there you can delete maps.

theres no option to delete them and theres only 80mbs of them anyway

Okay the 80 Mb will indeed not help.
How big is the size of your System and Others (storage sense phone)

My system takes up 2.67gbs and ive used 3.10gb on my phone

So what is the 430 Mb.
But if you really can not free up more you can use the Lumia software recovery tool to flash the update on your phone but this will erase everything on your phone.
Do you want to do this and do you know how this works?

As this phone lacks space, and cripples sd cards so you can't install /use apps on them, it would be useful to know how much space the denim system takes up on the phone once installed. Mine has trashed 2x 64gb sd cards which leaves only 300mb for apps on cyan. Is it worth even updating??
