Information needs about features in LUMIA 640XL

I notice that the glance screen has received an update to add weather and also a photo. I havent been notified by any such update. How do I do that in Lumia 640xl? Is that feature available in this? Or is it like Half baked glance screen again?

I have the msn weather app in my phone and set it as lock screen but still I don't get the information of weather in glance. Anyone can assist or provide information on this?

Also, is MS introducing glance screen notifications in W10M? like how google introduced in lollpop like iOS?

Not sure what you mean by notification feature like Google/Siri? If you're asking about a voice assistant feature then there's Cortana.

I was talking about the notifications that google introduced in lollipop. Viewing the detailed notifications in the lock screen itself like iOS8. Currently we have only the count of notifications.

you get notifications that pop up over the lockscreen and they disappear after a short time on windows phone.
You can add detailed information for one app to the lockscreen and 5 apps with quick status.
the question really is what does "detailed" mean? I can't imagine my lockscreen littered with detailed information on texts, emails and other apps. There is only so much space there and at some point old details have to make way for new ones.

My next concern then is that it is a lockscreen for a reason. If I want all my notifications displayed in detail on the lockscreen, what is the point of it?

Not exactly on the lockscreen but W10 notification center does support detailed notifications and when invoked on the lockscreen achieves the same functionality without making the beautiful lockscreen cluttered.

For the lockscreen, I suggest you try lockie which will allow you to place stuff like calendar, weather, notes, rss onto the lockscreen (no notifications though).

Glance features depend on the hardware. if you have a higher end phone you have updates and full features. Not for the 640XL hardware. If that is an issue I suggest you stick with Android or iOS.
