Too risky, its going to try to install 10 shortly after, so I wouldn't risk it unless you don't mind erasing your phone should the worst happens.

I did it. Buy it download a newer versi?n of update 1... No update 2... After that it download win10 so i did a hard reset and keep in that update 1 version

After that small update i unchecked auto download and uninstalled the insider app before it configured updates then no more windows 10 notifications. A quick check says the device is up to date.

Any body get the update 2 before the win10?

I did the second time I installed it. After many hard resets I reflashed to 8.1 then tried to install 10 again. I got a small update before 10 would install and its much more useable now. I still wouldn't install it on a daily driver though, its still rough around the edges. A few system apps still don't work and battery life is still diminished.
