This is precisely why I think that Microsoft still has some secrets up their sleeves... I mean, seriously, they just spent a huge portion of their demo discussing Lenses which is essentially what Instagram is. Would it surprise anyone if a new account style is Instagram and allows sharing from Camera/Pictures hub?

Yes, but it'd be an awesome surprise. If they have anything like that, it needs to be announced before the iPhone comes out. I can think of three friends off hand that would buy a Lumia 920 in a second if it had Instagram
