In the meantime, if you really want to play with photo filters and whatnot, I heard that Lomogram is a great alternative to Instagram. It doesn't have a community like Instagram but you can still post your pictures to the major social networks.

Nah, currently using the iPhone 3Gs and my friends and I share pictures through Instagram, and no, I will not apply those shtty filters on my pictures.

I need to check out Instagram. I want to learn more about the app so I know why it is so remarkably popular compared to other photo apps like Flickr. It seems to be a deal breaker for some people who might otherwise be interested in WP8.

Flickr was really for storing your photos.

iG is twitter (mixed in with fb when liking) for photos.

Fhotoroom is solid. Has a very dedicated developer than can be easily reached on Twitter.
