Installing Windows 8.1 via laptop

Hi

My Lumia 820 is ready for update to Win 8.1. However, the phone is not allowing me to update via Carrier Data and is asking for a Wi-Fi connection. I have no access to a public Wi-Fi (office network does not allow personal devices).

So is there a way I can install the 8.1 update by connecting the phone to my computer via USB and downloading the update over it?

Yes, use Nokia software recovery tool. Download and install the tool, connect the phone to your PC , and download and install the update. Will post a link soon.
