Internet Explorer slow?

I am on a Lumia 920, and find IE10 to be pretty slow in loading full websites. Doesn't seem to matter if its LTE or wifi at home. I also find it frustrating how the browser must reload the previous page in entirety when hitting the back button. Overall I am underwhelmed. Are my expectations too high, or do others agree?

My last phone was an iPhone 4S and I had a short stint with a Galaxy Note as well, so my opinion is based on experiences with those devices.
