Internet Sharing always on?

I've got a CV 920 with Cyan installed and 8.1.1

I've noticed that the SSID of my phone seems to be always broadcasting, even though Internet Sharing is turned off in the settings. Is it really on, or is this some kind of Windows 8 magic that my laptop always sees it as being on, even when it's off?

Just concerned about the battery impact if it's always on, although it doesn't seem to be making an impact.

If this is from a Windows 8.1 machine that you have paired via Bluetooth then this is the expected behavior. If this is not the case then I have no idea.

I have the EXACT same issue. this seems to be a HORRIBLE bug... other devices can see my phone broadcasting an SSID I cannot ever turn off.
I'm not amused.

Mine doesn't do that, but I set up WiFi Internet sharing, not Bluetooth Internet sharing, so my 920 isn't broadcasting its SSID when I have Internet sharing turned off.

all devices signed in with the same ms account as your phone will always see its wifi SSID in case you want to use it, it doesn't mean it is activated, as soon as you choose to connect to it, it will enable it on your phone automatically, just ms making it easier for you, you don't need to go to your phone to activate a hotspot and then back to your computer anymore

I may be wrong but I thought you needed to pair the devices via Bluetooth first and then what you describe would happen.
