Internet Sharing not working on AT&T using unlocked T-Mobile Lumia 925

I have a T-Mobile branded Lumia 925 that is unlocked and being used on AT&T. I am unable to turn on internet sharing even though my plan allows it. I have read through the thread in the Lumia 920 thread regarding this similar issue, however my circumstance is slightly different. Anyone have any suggestions? Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Am on WP 8.1 DP btw.

Have you tried rebooting the phone? 1020 here and I tested my sharing the other day and it worked great. I'm also on 8.1

It would appear that my issues is using an unlocked phone. Are you saying you are using a Lumia 1020 on AT&T and experiencing no problems? That would make sense as the 1020 is an AT&T phone.

I have exactly the same problem and have yet to find a solution - see this thread at the Nokia forum.

Most these carrier branded phones has special code built-in to check your account on that carrier to see if you qualify for tethering. This code can't be disabled by unlock (which only unlocked the SIM card). Some phone does a better job than others when dealing with other carriers. Your phone probably still call back to T-Mobile to check your non-existent account authorization.

The only solution, IMO, is to flash to a different firmware.
