Windows Central Question

Internet Sharing - strange Windows problem.

I have a laptop running Windows 10 and a Nokia phone running Windows 8. When the phone's Internet Sharing is switched, on the laptop will see it and connect - but as soon as Outlook / Edge / Explorer tries to use the connection it fails and the wireless connection is lost and cannot be restarted without closing and re-starting Sharing on the phone.
Now the odd part - this same phone links perfectly to my iPad, and my laptop links perfectly to my wife's iPhone (and obviously the iPhone and iPad work together). The only combination that doesn't work is the two Windows devices!
Rebooting phone and/or laptop makes no difference, and the Win10 troubleshooter can't identify the problem.

I'm stuck! Any ideas?

Re: Internet Sharing - strange Windows problem.

What model phone are you speaking of? Also, is it Windows Phone 8, or Windows Phone 8.1? This will make a difference in helping. If you are able to determine your firmware, that would help as well. Firmware before Cyan tended to be a bit buggy with Internet Sharing. At least I had issues with it.
