Sup guys, the names Jumoke. Been passionate about iOS since I got my first iPhone back in 2009, the iPhone 3G. But recently, I've been intrigued by WP8 and I'm completely ready to ditch Apple and make a full switch over to the windows platform.

At 16, I'm currently trying to immerse myself into Software Engineering and Graphic Design. I am also teaching myself how to program in C++ and Java.

I've always been a silent watcher on the forums, but now I am trying to be more active and post more. Maybe even get a chance to be an editor on here sometime . I'm a total tech junkie. I even started a tech club with my friends at school. About 30 members currently :excited:

I reccomend you keep your iPhone or buy an iPod if you are into games and apps. That is the one thing you will regret moving from iOS, I have an iPod touch and it helps me compliment my gaming and app needs, I will probably ditch it as soon as windows phone catches up to iOS. But, congrats on the switch witch phone are you planning to get? I recommend a Nokia phone, I have the 822 and it is one of the few with removable battery and removable storage. But, there are plenty out there!

Hey Jumoke, great to see you here. Have you got any specific Windows Phone in mind you want to switch to? Head over to the different sections on the forum and ask whatever questions you need to, there's a wealth of information out there!

Okay, I recommend you start off with an entry-level WP I'd you want to switch.
Also, if you really want to switch, ditch Google and go all-in for Microsoft. If you decide to keep your iPhone, that'll be easy even if you do this.

Remember, it is important to have fun. No matter what. You're in the tech world because its fun, right?

Thanks I'm already familiar with the Windows Phone ecosystem. I am into making apps not downloading apps and I have several ideas that I'm trying with Visual Studio. At this moment, I am waiting for a better version of the Nokai Lumia 1020 which is what I have in mind. Never been a fan of Google so there's no debate there and I'm already pretty much all-in except for my mobile device.

Thinking of maybe something with a 2ghz Processor, possibly quad-core though non of these specs are really needed for a Windows Phone. Just something that would be nice.

Welcome to WPC and there a lot rumours about the next gens being 1080P display and quad core which could be out beginning of next year.

For the SoC it would be great to have the Snapdragon 800 as a dual core not much use for a quad core as of yet.

No need to wait. I just switched from Android and I have the Lumia 1020. Why do you need quad core? Also, the Lumia 1020 has 2GB RAM. I just sold all of my Google devices and I switched over to Outlook.com. I already run Windows 8 and 2012 and my gaming system is Xbox. Next up for me is a Surface Pro tablet once they refresh it with the Haswell chips.
