Iphone to Windows 10 Mobile

So, my girlfriend bought a Lumia 650 after she's heard how happy I am with my 950XL and it is now apparent Apple does everything possible to make a switch as hard as possible.

She is currently on an Iphone 5S and she needs a few things transfered:
1. Pictures. I have installed OneDrive and set it up to transfer everything automatically.
2. Contacts. The phone seems to sync with her hotmail account which should make her contacts available on the 650 too, right?
3. SMS. Is there any way to transfer her sms'es over to the Windows platform?

I have made plenty moves from Android to Windows, but from Iphone it is a lot harder and I can see why people say there's too much work to move.

Make sure she turns off iMessaging on her iPhone before switching otherwise she'll have group texting issues.

Re: Iphone to Windows 10 Mobile

When I check her Outlook account, there are no contacts synced from her phone. They are however synced to the Windows Adress Book, but as a bunch of .contacts files which is no good for neither the People app or anything.

The outlook sync only seems to make the Iphone able to take contacts from Outlook.com, not add contacts.

And also FaceTime as well. She has to give the serve a little bit of time to remove her number from it.

I got you on that. If it will help, you can try what I'll suggest. I have an iPhone, Windows phone and Android. My contacts, even when I add new ones, are the same on all of them.

If you go to Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars , what is there? She needs to add her Outlook account there. It would help if she already has the outlook app installed for starters. Give it permission for contacts.

When you scroll down that same page, there should be a section for contacts, and then default account. She can try changing that to an Outlook account.

After doing that, she should be able to add contacts. I have it set up this way so that anytime I add a contact on my iPhone, it will be added on my other phones because it has been added in outlook. She can also try recreating some of these contacts after setting the outlook account as a default account and then sync. I wish her the best.

Once upon a time, moving sms and contacts btween phones was so simple with Data mover or similar app and bluetooth, simply new phone contacted old phone and took away all info.
I did that btween Nokias, Motorolas, and a old Lumia

And now?

Try using the transfer my data app, it should sync everything it can. As for the rest (which can't be automatically transfered) I guess you'll have to do some manual work - it's not that hard though.
Btw I think you can manage to save contacts to outlook, and then just "download" them to the Lumia.
