Is anyone buying WP7 apps with WP8 so close?

Will WP7 games and apps work in WP8 without any re-coding from day one?
I have stopped buying apps and games as I do not know if the answer to this question.

If anyone has any idea I would appreciate it.

Short answer: yes. So WP8 handsets will have over 100,000 apps available straight away. Optimisations and 'WP8-only' apps will come at a later date.

Still worried about ploughing too much money into the WP7 apps in case you have to pay to upgrade to WP8 version...will keep to cheap apps.

WP7 app will work out of the box on WP8. Developers can have their WP7 apps recomplied and optimized for WP8 through a MSFT cloudservice free of charge.
