Is at&t prepaid gophone - lumia 520 unlocked phone?

planning to buy a backup phone

Was trying to buy tmobile 521 and get it unlocked.

if AT&T comes unlocked i prefer this obviously.

please advise.

I'm thinking quite seriously of getting a 520 as a spare phone. I'm an AT&T customer. Somehow, I would expect for this phone to be locked. I hope they'll have a somewhat lenient policy like T-mobile (in which they'll unlock after 2 months as long as the account is in good standing and ?? $50 spent).

it is locked AND branded. You are much better off getting one from Expansys

My S3 gave me an issue with it not charging. I thought it would be a good idea to have a spare, plus the Lumia makes a good standalone media player, GPS, and micro-"tablet". I'm probably going to sell the S3, use the Lumia as a holdover phone and consider a Moto X or Nexus 5.
