Is it normal for the Lumia 520 to take long to update?

Next time i will update,i will remove my sim...and i think i should reset my phone,it's filled with lots of stuff lol

My Lumia520 asked if I would like to update and that it would take 5-10 mins and this is more than 5hours after and it's still showing me gear. Has it crashed? Somebody reply me Asap.

That's the problem wit my phone, it's been showing gears for hours and my internet wasn't on wen the request came. Has my phone crashed.
