Is it possible to backup the list of currently installed apps and restore later?

I've tried more than 1000 apps but only kept some of them. I really really hate to pick the apps one by one in the store after a hard reset. I'm running wp8.1 dp on my 920.

Yes. The backup feature should give the option for "app list+settings", for which only the installed apps will reinstall after a hard reset/restore.

Sorry to highjack this thread but I'm just turning on my 930, I signed in... isn't all my app and email accounts on my 920 supposed to be restored onto my new 930

It should have asked you to restore from a backup after you signed in. Do a hard reset (after making sure you've got copies of anything you don't want to lose) and sign in immediately during initial setup (do not choose "Later"). If you have previously backed up your data, you should then see the option to restore from a backup.
