Is it possible to delete artist backgrounds?

I just bought some nice headphones, so I had to reencode all of my music to v0 rather than 128 kbps MP3. I know 128kbps is low, but higher didn't serve any purpose with my old earbuds.

My phone has some odd images attached to various artists, and I'd like to change them if at all possible. Would wiping the music directory on my phone entirely succeed in doing this?

My mp3 tags got a bit messed up when I started using my L920. Read the tip that you just don't allow xbox music to connect, and manually manage your music, the albums and artists stay in tact. Mot quite sure if this is the same problem you're describing, but it may be related.
