So I am a Pre owner who waiting anxiously for the HTC Pro to come to Sprint for my upgrade. So the rumors are Verizon and Sprint might get WP7 phones as early as this month, if they were to make the announcement would it happen at CES? Any theories or ideas? I am dieing for an upgrade here! :-)

I'm in the same boat. I've got a Palm Pixi WebOS phone and I'm anxiously waiting for a WM7 phone to be available on the Sprint network. I'd like to upgrade to WP7 and begin developing apps for that phone. Let's hope that CES has some good announcements...

You and me both, I love WebOS but this garbage hardware has just worn me down so much that I just don't want to use it anymore. WP7 just looks like the kinda OS that works for me so....Sprint and HTC get it done!!

Oh and Microsoft to. lol

@cohoman, don't wait to get the phone before starting development. Download the tools and get started now :)

I am really, really hoping for something better than the HTC 7 Pro to come to Sprint. I absolutely need global roaming capabilities. Come on manufacturers, get your act together!

I've actually already started down the process of learning C#, Silverlight, and the WP7 API. I've got my first app about half way finished, but I've lost my motivation when only having the WP7 emulator to work with. For me, having the real hardware and using it on a daily basis really inspires me to create useful apps (primarily for myself!). So I'm waiting to get a WP7 device to really ramp up on app development.

Al Hilwa, an analyst with IDC, wrote in a Dec. 29 publication:

CDMA phones are expected to arrive in early 2011, ensuring that WP7 devices are available on all four U.S. carriers, thus helping increase device shipments...To bring the platform rapidly to a level of parity with other major mobile platforms, Microsoft will need to deliver several key features in the first quarter of 2011.

so probly soon , dunno if its gona be 3g+ , 4g doh

No its not the month, the tech geeks are still shaking off the holiday dreamies.

MS Employers have all reddy been beta testing the HTC Pro 7 phone since december So I'm sure that they are almost reddy, and we have seen verizon apps show up in the app store so I'm sure we are going to see some very soon... I beleave January..
What I don't understand is if they are doing cdma ? why are they not doing LTE as well with Sprints WIMAX ? I think it would be a huge hit if they came out with a window phone LTE phone on jan 5th instead of android stealing the thunder ... AGAIN!!!

im hoping for a HD7 type device for sprint or a dell with no keyboard the build quality on the dell is amazing so that would be nice...

Are you talking about Microsoft or the manufacturers? Microsoft has next to nothing to do with the phone being on CDMA/LTE/WiMAX.. and neither does Google for that matter. Hell, Google just released the Nexus S on tMo without HSPA+.
