Hi guys, so ive been using my Lumia 920 since it came out 3 years ago and its been fine however after i cracked its screen and replaced it, its fuzzy when i speak to someone over the phone. So instead of waiting for another flagship, i purchased a L830 for ?90, ( i thought it was cheap), and was wondering if it is faster or slower than the L920, in everyday tasks like opening apps, sufing the net etc. i dont play games so not worried about that.

i like taking pictures, sending emails and stuff so if you have had any experience please let me know.

thanks.

Yea its definitely faster. Plus make sure you're on the latest software update, some variants are currently on 8.1 Update 2+ Denim which has additional performance and stability improvements.

Yes. I have both. I thought I would not feel it that much fast but it is waaaaay faster.

When installing big games I almost can't use 920. With 830 I feel nothing.

After a reboot my password screen take a lot of time to be responsive with 920, with 830 is instanlty.

I still will see some "resuming..." screen. Looks like this is the case even with 1520.

OFF TOPIC: It's waaaay lighter. First week I even thought I had loose it. The screen is as good as but the lower pixel density (if you have very good eyes) is a lot noticeable.

I had 920 also. In 3D performance when gaming, they are almost similar. In everyday scenarios - 830's quad core performs better.

I used to own a 920 and a 1020. While I miss the camera on the 1020, I don't miss the lag it had. Both of the phones are almost identical with the exception of RAM (2GB on the 1020). I do feel that the 830 is an improvement in almost every aspect. I see the 830 as a refreshed 920. I couldn't wait for a true flagship to arrive and needed a replacement since my 1020 was stolen earlier this month. I may get the rumored Talkman if it comes out next year as it is slated to be sold then.
