Is Microsoft's Modern OS going to be a replacement for Windows 10

As we've seen in recent updates, major updates seem to be bringing features in the form of UWP Apps, making it generally easier to be ported to another Windows Platform. Is this a part of a replacement for Windows 10 that's unfolding right in front of our eyes, or is the "Modern OS" generally going to be targeted towards niche audiences.
