I have a class 4 32 GB SanDisk card I was wondering if it's sufficient for my Lumia 520 because I have 700 songs on it and when I play a song I have a consistent 2-4 second hang up

SanDisk is a good make but can you try a faster class of card? Class 6-10 shouldn't give you much if any hang up. This depends on each card though, there's no hard and fast rule.

Well I knew that limit I was just wondering if it was a good card further reading shows that alot of people were having music hang ups even on a class 10 so I guess it's an operating system issue

don't buy a new one if you don't need more storage, the lag is because of some bugs.. even on internal memory it happens when there's too much music. Do you also have the lag if you play a song in an album?
And while class 10 cards have faster read/write speeds, random memory access (which might cause a delay) is higher in most cases than on "slower" cards.

I have class 4 sandisk sd card on my lumia 625, and recorded videos are lagging while saving in sd card. When I save videos in phone memory they work fine.So I think you should go for higher class sd card,I'm also thinking of having one for me.

Thanks I don't have issues recording or pictures well occasionally but as th0mas96 stated it's probably a bug with windows phone and SD cards. And I have lag only when I click on a song if I exit the music application and click next it doesn't lag

videos are different, they require higher data transfer rates. but the lag with the music seems related to the OS.
