Is possible charge battery with the phone shut down?

Hello, i have the lastest software in my 950xl (10.0.10586.107) and i cant charge the battery with the phone shut down, when the phone is off, i plug the charger cable and automaticaly the phone turns on, is this normal?

This behavior has happened on every Windows phone I've owned - 920, 1020, 1520 and now the 950 XL. If you don't want the phone to turn on, maybe you can remove the battery, just pop off the back cover. Otherwise, yes, the phone turns on. It's normal.

Yes, perfectly normal. If it bugs you at night, turn quiet hours on. You can select who 'Breaks Through'

Though to turn quiet hours on you have to use location services other wise it doesn't work. Whoever came up with that bright idea also wants sacking. Seriously how hard can it be to implemet items that other phones have done remarkably easily. Why add layers of complexity for a basic feature. Seriously look at the DND feature on most phones and copy that.
