Not a peep from MS re. The Surface 4 (non Pro). Are they giving up on it? It would be a shame, good form factor & price range.

Why does it seem everyone is jumping to conclusions over everything?

No mention of a midrange phone? WELP Microsoft's done with the midrange!
No mention of old devices? WELP No Windows 10 Mobile for them obviously!
No mention of the Surface 3? It's DEAD!

The 3 was announced some time after the Pro 3 I believe, so its probably on a different timeline, if you will.

The surface 3 was just released in May. It's only 5 months old. The Atom processors used in that tier were very new at the time. The SP4 processors are also very new. MS is just aligning their product releases to coincide with available hardware in the same class. That means that they wont always get released as a complete set. So pretty much like every other device manufacturer.

This makes a lot of sense.

Plus to keep the buzz in the market all year round, Surface (non-pro) 4 coming out May-ish keeps us all talking about the devices!

I am under the impression that the SP4 core m is the follow up to the Surface 3?

Surface 4 will be released in May. But I wouldn't be surprised if it's the appetizer in a Surface event that unveils the Surface Phone.
