Is there a way yet to have your HTC One sync to your desktop to backup programs?

I am going to need a new phone as mine seems to have corrupt data on the voice messaging program and keeps failing to read the memory expansion card. Verizon was playing with it today and said they needed to get me a new phone. I backed up music and pictures but the App that installed when it was plugged into my Windows 8 machine didn't have anything to back up the programs. Am I missing something?

there is a backup feature in the settings, that handles your app backups and stuff. (direct to OneDrive, not to your PC)

Have you played with the windows phone app? It allows you to sync between your phone and computer. Not sure if it can do what you are asking, but may be worth a shot.
