Is there an autosave function in the answers box

I typed out a long answer/reply in the box where you write and inexplicably I pressed a keyboard key, still not sure which one, and the whole lot disappeared and at this point I realised there appears to be no auto save for your answers. I tried the back button but no good my reply had gone, but have I missed a trick other than constantly copying and yes I did try CTRL Y but still no good?

Ctrl y?
If viewing the site in a browser, very long text entries may get autosaved.
But the emphasis is on "may".
If you're using Spartan on the Windows 10 Technicsl Preview builds to view the site, typing anything ling is foolhardy - the page crashes a lot. Best to use Notepad (or something) and just paste in when you've finished.
Combined with the fact that the site's ads cripple a couple of Win7 machines i use (have to hard power them off to recover) is why i'm kinda done here these days. I dislike ad blockers, but when they're the only way some people have of partially rendering a page, the site's had it.

Cheers for the reply hotphil and of course it should have been CTRL V duh! Well I still don't know what I did and yes Notepad is a good idea at least until the answer is posted.
