I want a Virus scanner like Avast included in the store. Why should I trust it when a company says that WP is immune for viruses? Every digital device can get infected with a virus.

Virus scanners only work after the facts, e.g. there needs to be virus in the wild first before a virus scanner can be programmed to catch it. No Virus Scanner today can catch virus before it was written or released in the wild. So, if there is no known WP virus today, what's the point of having a scanner? To scan for what?

Never say never. Exploitations can exist on any OS. Just look at how it is possible to interop unlock certain WP phones (Samsung). If one can find a way to interop unlock that phone via an exploit, so can a malicious software/virus.

Different things. Any Samsung user can interop unlock their phone, but it is a self choice, it is not like "hey! Samsung phones can be unlocked, then it can get a virus". Even if a Samsung user decide to interop their phone, and, if a developer make a virus to run on interop devices, the rest of phones are not unlocked, and can't get the virus. And even if all Samsung phones are unlocked, only that phones could be affected by a virus, but at the end, it is a user choice.

The worst that can happen on a Phone of any OS is an information grab by an app. For example...If you were to enter your banking information into an App that says it will do banking for you, but not made by your bank........Something I hope by now no one would trust.(However some will always fall)

In many ways Phones are Virus free much the way Macs were in past. As hackers didn't know how to break OSX, but as the more Mac came on line the more interest hackers started to look for exploits in OSX. Now there are a few MAC virus'.

However to date Windows Phone has yet to see even one virus.

You mean windows phone or RT right? Because windows definetely isn't the most secure os.
I'm ready to say that Windows is secure enough, though most of its user base just use hacked versions that never get security patches, I've been on W8 for a year now and never had a virus or a malware that skipped Windows Defender.
