Windows Central Question

Our tech guy is saying that Windows 10 HOME is banned in other countries and is therefore telling the admin to require us to buy Win10 PRO. I doubt this is true but I just want to check here.

there's no sensible reason for a country to ban the default version of windows and not ban the pro version - it doesn't make sense

Ask the tech guy the real reason why they are promoting windows 10 pro - what are the benefits of using that?

Your tech guy is trying to scare you, but to what end? What does Pro do that Home does not, it's a small but significant list.

I remember pulling this kind of a stunt when I was a kid.

On a serious note, some countries require Windows N or Windows K editions, but that is a different matter. Out of curiosity, which country are you talking about?
