Is windows phone 7 dead?

To be honest windows phone 7 is capable of running native code and i'm mad that they didn't add that in. Additional keyboard languages and screenshot were also features that could have been added. I don't like how Microsoft didn't give us these features and how many users haven't even gotten 7.8, some people have bricked their phones using seveneighter. Also keep in mind that microsoft took down the marketplace for their older windows phones or windows mobile 6.

For me if they fix live tiles and update Skype to work in background, I will stay on my lumia710 for at least 2 years

A lot of us are in the United States on contract. For us we pay the same monthly bill whether we upgrade our phone or not. I got my Lumia 900 last year for free on contract. I can usually upgrade in less than 2 years. I would like to have WP 8 but MSFT had to do what they had to do. Anyway the way it looks now really revolutionary stuff will be coming out this holiday season for WP. No matter when you upgrade you always get screwed. If you waited you would have just started your contract and have Lumia 920. In my opinion the 920 doesn't blow the 900 out of the water. Some very interesting things are rumored to be surfacing later this year. There are going to be some jealous 920 owners out there.

Is WP 7 dead? In the US it soon will be. I am irritated because I too noticed the new apps coming out that have no WP 7 equivalent. But it is literally going to be a matter of months before I get a WP 8 phone on contract. The people I feel for are in the foreign markets who bought the phone outright. It really would have made more sense to wait for the 920. But for contract people? Who cares? I'm not going to sit around paying full contract price for 8 months waiting on a 920. I'll get a Lumia 900 and start burning through my contract. 8 months is long time.
