It seems that transparent is becoming the new norm

Recently many WP adopted have been updated to support transparent live tiles. To me personally I wish that not all apps get updated to have their live tiles transparent. I like how my start screen looks, it's mostly transparent with some non transparent tiles thrown around.

All apps will adopt the transparent style :P but I hope the dev's give us the option to set this ourselves instead of being forced to have a transparent tile

If you don't like them, turn off the background.

Good suggestion. I update 2 of my apps to do that, but I think ill add an option to keep the app colors background on tiles too.

I think he means he doesn't want all tiles to be the same color. He likes the variation; and I understand that.
Ah, then, as mentioned above, developers need to give an option to toggle transparency on and off, if people want to have some transparent and some not.

i love options, i love transparency and options for tile color by developers will be awesome because transparency alone wont work for me

top half of my start screen

because transparency for native apps/system tiles are awesome

and colored tiles for essential apps helps a lot because sometimes the color coding just makes the experience more natural without having to squint my eyes to find them.

You know what's great about transparency becoming the norm? As more devs build for it, more apps will be able to take on your theme colour. I hate that apps insist on having their own colour, ignoring the theme colour I've chosen.

I would prefer an option as well..

Like for example, i like the different colours of the different bing apps. If at a later point they do support transparency, they should also keep the option to use the coloured tiles.

I like the top part of my start screen transparent and the bottom part a little colourful.
