Saw the green intentional version on eBay for less than $200 and I couldn't resist. Haven't purchased anything on eBay in over a decade so really hope I don't get scammed, lol. Seller looks to be a business out of Texas with a contact number and 14 day return policy so l should be okay.

When you think about it, it might be awhile before we get another mid-range device. The rumored 650 has a Qualcomm 210, and every other Windows 10 device that we know of is either a low end device or a high end one. There might be a few mid-range devices announced at Mobile World Congress but I doubt any will look as good as the 830. I actually wanted the orange one but at least l can change the back cover.

I hope you get it soon! Let us know what you think.

I agree with you about the mid-range devices. I also like that there's color choices out the gate for it. I appreciate Mozo's efforts, but it's nice to have colors originally.

Assuming all is in working order, I'm sure I'll love it. It will be quite a change coming from the 1520, but I need a change of pace. Plus I can type horizontally again lol.

I have upgraded my aging 720 for a white 830 just over 2 weeks ago and I am really impressed with the performance and reliability so far. No crashes, reboots or any other inconveniences. I'm also going to try and get hold of an orange wireless backplate so I can change according to my mood.

It's a great little phone and served me well between my 1520 and 950. Have mine 830 to my wife and she dropped it and put an inch long scratch in the screen!

Cracked screens bring sadness to my heart.

Supposedly my 830 is supposed to be here sometime between now and the 8th. I'm hoping it's here by Thursday.

The anticipation is killing me. I hope it comes tomorrow and I hope there isn't anything majorly wrong with it. I also still need to explain to the Misses that I bought another phone. :grincry:

I hope it comes today for you too! It's so hard to be patient for a new phone, aside from refreshing the tracking number 4186124 times a day. Good luck letting her know that you got a new pretty phone!

THIS IS NOT THE INTERNATIONAL LUMIA 830! THIS IS THE AT&T VERSION. WTH!!!

...is what I said when I opened the package.

Furious, I was going to contact the company. But before that, I wanted to make sure I didn't goof.

So I went to eBay and did a search for the international Lumia 830. I clicked on the item and read the description again.

...It was I who goofed. :unhappy:

The description says it works internationally because it's a GSM phone and I assumed it was the international version because that was my search term. Dumb Cori. Your straight A's from last semester were wasted.

Aside from my own stupidity, the phone is as described. There's a small scratch on the bottom left of the screen, perhaps from a drop. The scratch is pretty hard to notice unless the phone is in bright light and held at a particular angle. I haven't noticed anything to suggest that the internals are messed up, and I will have to see if the battery is still good (luckily it's replaceable).

The phone feels GREAT in the hand, though. And visually the AT&T version is more striking than I originally gave it credit for. Needless to say, I will hold onto this phone.

Ahhh, we live and we learn, right? Glad that you got it! How it feels in the hand is so important (this is a recent lesson that I am learning myself). Let us know how you like it, along with your thoughts after you play with it a bit.

Indeed, you do live and learn. I've been doing updates since I got home from work. Still waiting on Windows 10 to finish up. Even before upgrading I could tell the difference between the 1520 and 830 in speed and fluidity. I expected as such, though.

Good luck with your new toy Cori. I'm still over the moon with my 830...

Having used the 1520 for almost two years, I have to rethink what's considered normal battery life. The battery on the 830 was at 95% when I went to bed. I woke up early about six hours later and the battery was at 89%. Three hours later and I'm down to 82%. I've only used the phone to check emails and that was only for a few minutes. So maybe the battery life is fine. Either way, it's replaceable.

Also, Windows 10 is running fine. Perhaps even better than expected.

At least the ATT model got its Update 2 and Denim eh?

I was kinda annoyed when it released because it kinda made the RM-985 model I was selling a bit less appealing. :P

EDIT: wait you put 10 on it, but hey my firmware point still stands.
