Just Bought a Lumia 930! What should I expect?

Hey everybody!
I recently purchased a 930 because I'm looking at getting into the Windows ecosystem again, my last touch with windows phone was with the Lumia 1020. What should I be expecting with the 930? I never got to updating my 1020 with the denim update, whats changed on the software front? I'll be using the 930 on AT&T alongside my BB Passport, so I'll be wanting to switch between the two and I realize that I'll only manage HSPA+ on the 930 but will I be dependent on AT&T for updates to the device? I am not with the Passport since it is unlocked, is this the same case with unlocked Lumia devices? If there are any apps or accessories or tips that you have feel free to share, I'm excited to try windows phone again! Sorry to the mods if this is posted in the wrong thread.

Everything MS has to offer to their mobile platform, that is till a newer more advanced flagship comes their way, but till then enjoy your 930

Hello Bryan,

A Heads-up... for the first day or two, while everything syncs up, the phone gets really hot, and the battery gets crushed. However, since the 3rd day, it seems that both issues have resolved. I am really happy with this, and even though I am on T-Mobile (so no LTE), the 3g/4g that I am getting is still fast enough for netflix, which is good enough for me. So far, this is a huge update for me from the 925, which I also liked a lot. The screen is AMAZING, the camera is excellent, and the size is quite nice. It is actually a little lighter and thinner than my 925 with its Qi charger panel on the back... very sturdy. So far, so good, I really like it. Batter is better, phone quality is better, and even the antenna seems stronger.

One more answer, I received the denim update, which was not attached to tmobile, but rather the region of the phone. Mine was from Thailand, and so I got my update at the same time as the Thai region. Greatfully, you will not be dependent on AT&T.

Can you see if you guys are able to pull down the action center/notification center if the phone is on a table or desk and you don't touch it except for using your finger in pulling down the window?

But I'm sometimes unable to unlock it with double tap. Mostly when it's laying on my desk.

I got my 930 few days back and would like to know something.

I have a 720 & a 730. Both devices had matte finish at the back but over the time they have become glossy.. Any 930 user who can tell me if its the case with 930 as well? I don't want to get a case for my phone but definitely don't want this to end up glossy

I just received my unlocked 930 today. Only been using it a few hours, but so far I love it. Updated to Denim, got everything set up for the U.S., popped in my AT&T sim and everythings great so far.

I'm shocked how good this phone feels in my hand. May very well be the most comfortable phone I've ever held at any size. I'm noticing I'm getting 4 or 5 bars (H+ of course on AT&T) which is better than the 2 maybe 3 circles I got on my iPhone.

I do have one question, is signing up for a Nokia account worth messing with?

Had the same problem today when mine arrived. I don't know if this is the issue or not, but I noticed if my finger wasn't more or less in the middle portion of the phone it didn't work.
