Just in case you were paranoid about the NSA spying on you through your Kinect

I'm sure NSA will also tap into my tablet's, laptop's & PC' and phone's cameras and microphones if they feel the need to. It's not like this is about the Kinect.

Good thing cell phones dont have microphones and cameras or we'd all be in trouble!

I dont care that the NSA knows I tell my wife I love her or that I am heading to my parents for dinner. I think people who are really upset about this actually have something to hide like the missile in their garage or the escort they will encounter this weekend on their "Business" trip.

What about your government makes you trust them more than others? Just look at all the shenanigans from Governments across the world, just this past year or two.

I find it fairly disturbing that people blindly trust Government, no matter what "party" is in power. All over the world. Especially based on History of the world.

Regardless, we are all spy'd on more than we realize, no doubt. Lol. Technology is too convenient to care for most.

I know that many tech companies are making an effort to encrypt data and set limits on their technology sp that they wouldn't be able to get the personal info even if they wanted to.

Tech companies don't like doing this for the government. Sometimes they are forced to give the govt access. So now they are just limiting what they can collect so that I'd the govt asks they can say, "this really generic info is all I can give you because we don't collect other info."

It won't be long now.
Soon we will have property tags implanted.

I believe whatever they do is a smokescreen to attempt to give their customers peace of mind. Kind of like the TSA.

Responses like this scare me.

Oh I dont trust the government. I just find it strange that people are outburst about the NSA spying. I am a Texas and par of the deal is that Texas is allowed to withdraw from the union if it wants to.

And I agree with radmanvr. I don't care either. You can do as much as you want for privacy, but any for the most part any assurance it gives you is imagined. You're connected; your information is available. The extra steps you go to for increased security are still no obstacle to the powers that be. A cement block is harder to pick up than a brick, but it's still relatively easy to carry.

You don't mind sending me photos of your wife naked then, right? And your credit card bills, phone records, browsing history, oh, and if you don't mind, I'll use the Kinect to watch your kids at all times in your own home.

That was quite a leap you attempted there.

No it's not. All of those things have happened. When you're saying "I have nothing to hide" you're saying that you are comfortable with those things.
Did you read the originally posted material? The British were collecting massive amounts of private, intimate (sexual) video chats. It's pretty clear phone and credit card companies have been compromised, and The Guardian is reporting that this same program looked into compromising the Kinect. Bets on when it comes out that they did?

You're welcome to whatever you can find.

I too am aware that expecting privacy online is unreasonable. Once you stop caring about it tho, that opens the doors for people/companies/governments/services to start taking and giving and sharing more and more. This is a real issue right now, and its going to get worse before it get's better.

You're making the leap of someone saying they have nothing to hide from the government (which will get the data by force anyway) vs giving that data to some person on the internet.

It's not close to the same.

I have privacy concerns, but I know that the government will collect data. I can live my life knowing this, even if I disagree with it.

Do you really believe that this is the same as willingly giving your data do some dude on the internet?
