Just what are these black photo tiles?

This is on my Italian CV Lumia 920 and for whatever reasons, they appear in the photos section and there's no way to remove them. Deleting all the photos and shuffle the photos on the tile fix nothing. Seems like running Denim actually reduces reliability.

Try restarting your phone. If that doesn't remove the empty photo tiles, try deleting the temporary files from your phone: Settings > Storage Sense > phone > temporary files > tap on "delete", and then restarting your phone again.
