keep getting message 'icloud account settings out of date' how do i update them?

How do I ypdate iCloud setting on my Lumia950

Usually it means putting in your most recent password.

Or it could mean an issue you can't do anything about at the moment. Maybe reboot the phone or see if you can wait it out.
