Keeps Dropping to windows desktop

anyone know why my SP3 keeps dropping to the windows desktop by default - happens when I close an app it seems to drop to desktop and not back to metro start screen - Often times I don't even have the desktop 'open'

is this a bug?

oh - fixed it - i needed to enable and then disable the option "show windows apps on taskbar" - looks like a bug to me ..

Awesomeness. Happy to help. I had that issue on my Lenovo Flex 10 as well. Hidden settings are what it's about. This is the reason a lot of people don't like Win8/8.1. I tell folks that they can set it just like Win7, but...... I like Metro..
