Keyboard and moving the cursor between letters.

Before 8.1, I used to be able to hold my finger on the text I was writing, and a cursor would appear, so it would be easy to correct words that autocorrect didn't get.
After 8.1, nothing happens when I hold my finger on my text, so there is no easy way of correcting mistakes, as I now have to click the word, and hope the cursor lands between the 2 letters I was aiming at...

Is this a bug, or something they removed? Any way to turn it back on?

If you press down, the cursor should appear where you are holding down. It gets annoying because sometimes the word gets highlighted instead making it confusing. I prefer the old way better, I like seeing the big cursor appear and dropping it anywhere I please. One of the few things that I hate about wp 8.1.

It actually works much better for me the new way. You tap and it highlights a word, yes. But then you tap again, the cursor appears and you grab the cursor from the bottom, where the circle is, and you can move it wherever you want with much better precision than before.

There is a tutorial or article about it on WPCentral's page from back when preview for developers came out. It gives you all the new info and tricks on the keyboard. Including the awesome new Touch Flow.

Oh I have not read that, after the second tap I am actually having a hard time grabbing the cursor to drag. Needs some time getting used to.

Touch flow is only available in a few languages, for some annoying reason. I was really looking forward to that feature, as I always wrote like that when I used android, and on that platform it's available in all languages... Actually, MS left out almost all the big features of 8.1 in my region, so the only difference for me, is wallpapers and notification center :/

Thanks for the help, though! It's a lot easier to edit my texts now :D

It still sucks for us with larger fingers. I keep trying, but for me personally, I prefer the old way. Just wish MS would have toggle option. But I know the new way is more consistent across platforms and O/S's.
