L630 reboot loop with strange screen

Hello,

After a failed attempt to update my lumia 630 to the latest insider preview of windows phone i'm stuck with a device that's in a reboot loop. The phone boots with the word Nokia and then displays the attached screen. After about 3 minutes the phone reboots and it all starts over. I tried to roll back to 8.1 with the windows phone recovery tool but that does't work.

Has anyone seen this screen before and knows what it means and how i can restore my phone?

Re: L630 reboot loop with strange screen

You must connect the device to your PC and left it tell it finish

Re: L630 reboot loop with strange screen

You'll probably have to reflash it. Have you tried Windows Phone Recovery Tool?

Re: L630 reboot loop with strange screen

This screen is shown when Lumia recovery tool is installing updated windows phone on mobile. You should not unplug your phone during this process.

Re: L630 reboot loop with strange screen

The screen is showing even when the windows phone recovery tool isn't updating. During the attempts to recover my phone with the recovery tool it gives me a error after approx. 5 minutes and stops, the phone then reboots.

Hi Marc_H! I had the same issue with my L630 from 10149>10166 then tried 8.1>10166 did't work looping over and over again.I thought I bricked my phone so I found that old software works better than new .Here is the link that will bring your phone back to life do exactly what they say and this is what
I "encountered" I had to swap USB ports so that my phone gets detected exactly in the moment I pushed start recovery button and it work,You might try to uninstall some unusable Nokia USB drivers but be careful it might work just with swapping USB ports tak:orly:e care Cheers. PS can't give link cause windows central told me I need 10 points sorry maybe there is private msg in here on wpc or contact me on facebook lukas waft bye

Re: L630 reboot loop with strange screen

Go here and download the NokiaRecoverySoftwareInstaller.exe Support - - Microsoft - Malaysia

Next, install it and it may install an update as well, so it seems like it installs twice.

  • Launch the program, with phone disconnected, after it is fully installed and select the bottom option that says "My phone will not startup or respond".

  • Though it says to have the phone connected at this time, don't bother.

  • Hold the volume down button and power button until the phone vibrates, then plug it in. The software will say that it is downloading the recovery image for your device.

  • In the meantime, your device will likely reboot a few times and this recovery will not actually not take as the recovery image is not downloaded yet to actually install to your device when it says it is.

  • Run through the process starting at the first bullet point again and once the recovery image is actually done installing, that red screen you show in the original image will flash green and your device should reboot. There is a chance this will be WP 8, but you can do any updates you want from here.

I resurrected a 1520 yesterday in 30 minutes using the above method, so you should be good to go.

Let us know how it goes ;-).

Thanks for the tips guys. I going to try if it is going to work. I'll let yoy know.
