Okay first reboot after 9 days but I guess it was due an email sync issue. I was having issues last night while accessing my emails, didn't realize I wasn't getting any emails since then. It rebooted this morning and bam...50+ emails showed up, that's when I realized it was the email sync causing the reboot

Just a heads up: I haven't had any reboots with the final full version of Denim on my Lumia 830 yet.
Either Microsoft fixed whatever was causing the reboots or I was just lucky for the past two weeks.

Interesting--are you running any sort of Facebook messaging up?

That was by far the biggest culprit from me--I uninstalled JDB Facebook (a shame, as it's a great app otherwise), and my freeze-restarts went from more than once a day to once every few days (and at least once it happened because I was using Facebook messenger in the web browser).

Guess I need to hold on and wait for full Denim to each my phone.

I've no idea myself, but it would be nice if it did. Pretty much all phone ecosystems have been forced to split Facebook messaging from their own message hubs, and then from the official Facebook app itself (which was FB playing hardball--thanks a lot). I've had to do without FB messaging on my phone in general (except for occasional checking) because of the auto-restarts.

I use JDB facebook to view fb but I use IM+ for messaging and it seems just fine, though I really don't message much with fb messager, I use Viber and Line mostly for my messaging and a little SMS.

Regular Facebook Messenger from the app store, but I use it very irregularly. Often days between messages. And my phone never restarted while I was using it, always while idle.

Thanks for all the suggestions and feedback. I've gotten the random reboots down to "just" 2-3 times a day after making sure Skype is never allowed as a background task. That was causing at least 2-3 extra reboots a day on its own. Using the app is fine, it's just having it allowed as a background task that causes problems.

I've noticed that many of the reboots happen after using the Messaging hub. Maybe it's just coincidence since that's generally used pretty often. Perhaps something to do with Messaging backup? I'd disable it but I really like the feature.

Either way, this is my 4th (and last) Lumia 830 (one RM-984, two RM-985s with LA ROMS, and this RM-985 with NA ROM). Since all of them had random rebooting issues, I've decided not to bother with sending it in for repairs. Not worth the headaches anymore as they clearly either have software or hardware (or a combination thereof) issues. I'll deal with it til May/June, then decide whether to switch to another WP or try something else (something else probably being an Xperia... not a fan of Sammy or Apple).

Not yet... even though my phone is factory unlocked. Somehow locked carrier variants are getting the update before many unlocked ones.

It is man... all you can do is laugh, but it's that halfway angry laugh. The funny thing is I was about to post that uninstalling Gestures Beta and Glance Background Beta reduced the restarts since I only had one all day (and that was pretty early in the morning). But so far, I can only confirm that disabling Skype as a background task has helped.

Eagerly awaiting the full Denim update!

On an RM-985 now, NAM ROM. First one I had was an RM-984 though, back in October. Couldn't wait to get the phone and didn't know when the RM-985s would be out. Sold it once the RM-985s were released.

I am having this issue a lot lately. I thought I had the full denim update since I bought the phone from the MSFT store in December. I have to say, I am not nearly as happy with the 830 as I was with the 920. I also agree that the touch screen is not nearly as responsive and the time it takes to resume is not a good thing!
