Latest firmware update broke Windows hello?

At this one it's just arbitrary whether or not Windows hello who work it is the screen so just get stuck on "turning camera on". I submitted feedback and just hope a future update will fix it.

Well by this point, MS should be aware of the issues with Hello since the 2/17 update, so with any luck, the next firmware update will address them. There are posts on their own support forums detailing the same sort of issues folks here are describing.

offbeatbop -- since yours is a seemingly random, intermittent issue, have you tried reinstalling the Windows Hello drivers? MS now offers all of the Surface Book drivers and firmware in a nice little package on their site: https://forums.windowscentral.com/e...ad%2Fdetails.aspx%3Fid%3D49497&token=mGfoQXh9

I haven't tried reinstalling the drivers. I'll give it a shot, thanks.

I recently had the endless "Turning camera on" problem. It went from happening occasionally to happening every time. If I went to try to train Hello to recognize me better it reported there was a problem with the camera. The other odd thing I noticed was how long it took to change from the front-facing to rear-facing camera in the actual camera app.

I went to https://forums.windowscentral.com/e...www.microsoft.com%2Fsupport%2F&token=LhZ33hUY and hunted down the drivers for the Surface Book. It's all one big download with all the drivers in it - dated 2/22/16. I downloaded this and ran the setup that installs all the drivers. When I rebooted, my camera was fixed and hasn't done the turning on thing once since then.
