Based on the PDF it looks the same. Since there ARE firmware updates, it's not clear how you can keep your settings. I just sucked it up and let the RUU wipe my device. I can't say I regret it at all.

and just to confirm, this is the same exact thing that will be released shortly by verizon?
the only thing keeping me back is I am hoping there will be a hack found to upgrade from RTM and keep all my settings... mainly no having to go through the fiasco of re-linking everyones name from facebook to phone numbers

I don't think anyone can assure that this is identical. I sure don't know. My setup is pretty simple, so redoing that after the wipe was a good way to discover some of the new features in real time. I am not a hacker or an xda developer, so I don't share the concerns of those who want to remain unlocked or sideload apps (terms I have read describing things about which I know exactly nothing).

I took the chance after seeing enough reports of success without any reports of bricking. Took the same leap w/ leaked Gingerbread on droid and never regretted that. Speaking only for myself here. Hope this helps!

Anyone with the RTM get an update notification/able to update with Zune? I've heard whispers that even with the RTM people's phones are updating
