Guessing no-one on these forums was getting "failed to connect" message when trying to log in?

Someone tweeted @rudy about this error and was told to check time/date settings. Mine are correct and don't know what the outcome of that discussion really was or if it went further,

When I try to log in with a deliberately wrong username / password combo, it tells me the password is wrong. But with correct credentials I get the failed message.

I can log in through other apps, including on my phone (but not simultaneously obviously)...

Random images? Yes I think so but I not sending random images :/ guess I don't have that feature
