Little symbol on apps in store

There is a symbol that looks like a WP and another device on many apps that I've seen while browsing the store. What does it actually mean, if anyone knows.

It means it's for both WP8.1 and W8. So you download one, you get it for the other.

Universal App

Waving Reds is right. It's called a Universal App. Even if there is no version for the tablet, or vice versa, when it comes out you've already bought it.
